Alex Zarate, EIT

Transportation Analyst

Alex Zarate is committed to designing roadways with safety and efficiency for all users. Alex began his career at CBB as an intern for two summers before joining CBB full-time in 2024. His primary role at CBB includes working on roadway design projects and performing traffic safety analyses. Alex is skilled in using software programs such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Synchro, Sidra, and HCS. In addition, he has experience with methodologies and procedures for using the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) and Interchange Safety Analysis Tool Enhanced (ISATe).

My favorite thing to do in St. Louis is...

I really love Union Station! I enjoy everything from the aquarium to the rope-course and the Soda Fountain restaurant. Somehow I never get bored of it all. I'm sure to visit at least once a year!

If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be… and why? ...

There's a few places I would love & hope to travel to one day! Japan, Italy, and France to experience the culture, the history, the beautiful architecture, and the food!

If I could have dinner with anyone from history, it would be…and why?...

George Lucas! He might not be an ancient historical icon, but in my mind he is a legend. I would love to meet him and talk about the stories of Indiana Jones and Star Wars.
