Position Description: CBB has an immediate opening for a Senior Transportation Planner to lead CBB’s transportation planning discipline. The position has significant opportunities for long-term growth and advancement. The successful candidate will work in areas of:

Core transportation planning functions including collaboration on and leading transportation planning projects

Mentoring and training of younger staff

Business development such as networking and writing project proposals

Translation of complex concepts into accessible communications that inform and educate stakeholders and the public

Community engagement and public outreach

BA/BS/MS in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science or a closely related field

AICP certification (preferred)

Experience in transportation planning project management

Strong communication skills with the ability to write and communicate findings clearly

Knowledge of transportation planning related software

Ability to manage concurrent tasks with tight deadlines

Critical thinking and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and as a team

Applicant Requirements

Full Time: B.S. or M.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Planning, or related fields.
Intern: Enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Planning, or related program.
Eligible to gain PE licensure or AICP certification in the future.
Self-motivated with an ability to manage concurrent tasks with tight deadlines.
Willingness to work overtime, as necessary, to meet deadlines as required.

We have a flexible workspace with satellite offices in the Metro-East, Downtown St. Louis, and St. Charles. However, employees will spend the majority of their time at the Creve Coeur Headquarters.

I come from a different background than many people here. I received my B.A. degree in Interior Design and worked in that field for almost 10 years. When the pandemic hit, my work came to a screeching halt. I basically ended up beginning my hunt for anything sustainable, where I could see myself long-term, where I would be an asset with my background in spatial design, AutoCAD, and the understanding of ADA. When I started at CBB, I wasn’t sure how much help I would be. Now I see that this company is made up of people who provide a lot of great traits and assets that help to make our team, the excellent force it is today.
