Safe, Connected and Equitable Communities
CBB is committed to creating stronger work, both through our technical expertise and giving back to the community.
We value safe, connected and equitable communities and know that we can do our part to contribute to these strong places. We continue to give back through local events that support strong and safe communities.
Looking Forward
One event we look forward to on an annual basis is our partnership with Transforming a Life and other local partners to donate more than 250 brand new coats.
The CBB staff raises funds to give directly to Transforming a Life, who provides our team with the coats. We work with local partners and their staff, including Saint Louis University High School, the City of St. Louis, Alderwoman Cara Spencer and Novation Church in South St. Louis to give coats to families that need extra warmth during the winter months. During this event, we hand out coats ranging in size from 3XL to 6 months and hold a winter festival with cookies, hot cocoa, and arts and crafts activities.
Caring for the people in our community is the heartbeat of The Melvin Theater Community Center. Collaborative partnerships with organizations and companies in our community allow us to make the biggest impact possible. CBB is such a company. The annual coat distribution coordinated by CBB helps so many individuals and families in the community during the Christmas season. We appreciate CBB’s investment of resources, time and energy. Our contact person, Jacque Knight, and the many volunteers that make this event possible, work hard each year to make this endeavor a huge success.
